I remember working with Mike behind the Service Desk at Kroger and watching him have to reprimand some kids for being disruptive in the store. That night when we were back at his apartment and reasonably stoned he looked at me and started laughing and said, "NO! I don't want to become part of The System! I don't want to be part of The Wall!" At the time it was humorous as all hell because we were stoned and we were listening to Pink Floyd and...yeah...
But I just got done talking to the cops about kicking a bunch of 13-15 year old boys off our store property because they're skateboarding and bothering customers and pushing each other around in our carts. *sigh* I don't want to be part of The Wall.
Did I mention that actually having to do this whole professional adult responsible manager thing is NOT FUN?! Can't I just go back to being 21 and stoned again?
