With the upcoming movie about the 1966 Texas Western team that was the first to field 5 black starters, (we're talking basketball, Kate), I feel it only right to remind some people of the ground breaking that was done by Mr. George Ireland and the Loyola Ramblers 3 years earlier. Attached is a link with a quick summary of some of the moments that they, and their opponents had to go through. A quick search on Yahoo or Google will also bring you more detailed stories and accounts. I do not want to take anything away from Texas Western as it was their game against Kentucky that was more symbolic than the Ramblers beating Cincinatti. I'm just curious when the Ramber's movie is coming.
