MTV Radio

I'm happy. I have just realised that Barnes and Noble allow you to play a 30s clip of just about any song on any album you might be considering buying. Coupled together with the MTV Radio stations I think I will be compiling a vast list of funky albums I wish to purchase, with minimal effort.

Of course, but iTunes is the devil! :)

Actually, there's just something I don't like about iTunes which makes me want to avoid it like it has plague. Maybe it's the way I keep finding it installing itself on my systems without me asking it to.

ok, I think I should add to my earlier response. I like the MTV radio, it sits in the background and plays. No download, no software, no cost. The lack of software installation is particularly useful for me whilst at work.

As an added bonus, if it plays a song I don't like there is an option to skip the song - an option iTunes (I believe) is lacking.

Whilst working away, I occasionally hear a song I particularly like, and open the radio window to see who it is, and what album it's from. I am not aware of iTunes allowing you to then listen to a selection of other tracks from the same album for free. Barnes and Noble allows me to do so, and again without having to install anything. I like collecting albums. Real albums, on CDs. They're shiny.

So, with this combo for almost zero effort I get to listen to music I like, avoid music I don't, and can check whether or not the other songs on a given album are good enough to consider buying it.

Hey to each his/her own. I use a combination of iTunes and XM Radio and that works for me. :D

It's a satallite radio service here in the States and Canada. I must have music diversity while driving around down here besides Top 40 and Country. I listen to Opera, Classical, and even a movie soundtrack channel as well as some good old Standards Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin type stuff.

Ah. I see I can listen to it online for $7.99 per month. I think I'll stick to MTV :-)
