Terrorist will "Die with a Whimper"

Back in April, I commented on the upcoming sentencing of Zacarias Moussaoui - a terrorist charged with conspiring to cause the Sept 11th attacks in the US. I'm happy to say that those responsible for making the decision on whether or not to execute him have decided not to give him a martyr's death, and have imposed a life sentence in "Super Maximum Security" prison. Though I can't resist making a comment on how childish "Super Maximum" sounds.
"Mr Moussaoui, you came here to be a martyr and die in a big bang of glory; but to paraphrase the poet T.S. Eliot, instead, you will die with a whimper," Judge Leonie Brinkema told him.
Judge Brinkema, you have my thanks for displaying Wisdom in your sentencing.
For reference, I got the quote from this yahoo news article.

There's also a BBC article which contains what I consider to be a fair few digs at the style of 'evidence' presented, and the Bush regime's actions so far in TWAT (the war against terror), though admittedly they're very subtle. Especially the ending. It will speak volumes about how Americans want their leaders to prosecute the war on terror.

It is their war, waged in their name.

Perhaps they want the war on terror to be gentle and bound by law. That, after all, is how most Americans see themselves.
I particularly love the part where the writer asks: "Are the people of [America] more sophisticated than their political leaders?" Go BBC! :)
