Well, I'm back in Goshen, with a mild sunburn and a sore throat to show for this amazing tour. Oh, and a rock from the Pacific Ocean. And a plastic sword from Seattle. Long story.
Anyways, tonight is our home concert to finish off the tour. It starts at 7:30 at the church-chapel. If you haven't been reading the college website, the concert tonight will be dedicated to the Bluffton baseball team, and the normal offering will be sent to a fund set up for the families and men involved in this tragic accident.
Early Friday, a charter bus carrying the Bluffton University baseball team drove over an overpass and fell, killing 4 players, the bus driver, and his wife. All others aboard were hurt. As of Saturday morning, eight players remained in the hospital. Of those, two were in critical condition and one in serious condition.
Bluffton University is a Mennonite sister school to Goshen. The school has a little over 1100 students, so you can imagine what they are feeling right now. A few of my friends here knew people that were killed or hurt, and there are strong ties between our two schools. Prayers for the families and students at Bluffton are much needed right now.
