15. Candle

Feb 02, 2008 10:50

Yes, I sort of copped out. =/ It was just too mushy and long and boring. So you have the reader's digest version here.

"I'm glad it wasn't too windy," Yamato yawned and rolled over next to him. "Or we never would have gotten the candle lit."

Kosaburou grinned at the ceiling, remembering their fight with the candle. "It was a good wedding, wasn't it?" He snuggled up to her. "I liked the cake."

"Hmm, yes, it was good cake." He could hear her smiling sleepily. "Nanako was beautiful."

Kosaburou put the memory on his mind's VCR and replayed the day in double time. "You were both beyond lovely. It looked like the dresses were custom made for the two of you. I liked the shiny fabric."

"I liked your spy tux. It was better than the one I picked out."

"Told you."

"You were right."

There was a pleasant, drowsy silence between them for a few moments. "Yamato, do you think Nanako is alright?"

"She's with Domino and Dr. Nanba. She's probably having the time of her life." Yamato reached behind her and stroked his chest. "Is it odd that we really only had our coworkers at our wedding?"

"Not really. We're both orphans with no other known siblings besides Nanako. It's not like we have much a life outside of work, either."

"We have friends and acquaintances here. I think that's enough." Yamato yawned again. "I'm going to sleep. 'Night."

Kosaburou wrapped his arms around her and buried his nose in her neck. The gentle ocean lapping at the shore quickly lulled him off to sleep; it was a peaceful sound that relaxed the mind.

Tomorrow would be a big day; they would be grateful for their rest later.
