Foreword by Joshua H. Pike
He is the stuff of today’s legends, over a century after his death. Today he stands as the most famous historical figure ever, and today he still captivates the public mind as he did when he was alive. His many exploits and deeds are difficult to overstate and have been immortalized with the man himself. He is a muse of sorts, inspiring artists of all vocations for masterpiece after masterpiece. World leaders today still look to him for guidance. Ironically, despite having been on the Most Wanted list of over eighty different countries, he sired a line of the greatest elite Special Service agents ever known. By all means he is among the greatest and most terrible men ever to live. But he also fascinates us, holding us spellbound until we believe him, for all his crimes, a hero.
There has never been a greater duo than don Giovanni “The Boss” and The Madam. For over five decades they dominated the political scene, even reaching so far as to be consulted internationally and treating their organization as almost a separate country. They casually walked over entire governments and sniffed at the law and used people like so many tools. Their career left behind a fast-lane trail of blood, money, and intrigue. Beneath their glamorous appearance lurked a depth so full of cunning and deviousness only a certain two people could ever carry out. And they snatched history out from under the world’s nose.
But how much do any of us really know about the duo? Aside from the concrete facts, we can barely scratch the skin of the ultimate question: Who was Giovanni? What was he like as a man to those who knew him? And what about him as a father? Who was The Madame, and what was their relationship? Until now we have only heard theories and speculation about these mysteries.
Now after the death of The Boss’s last descendent, the testimonials of the people who had known him, kept secret for so long, are finally revealed to the public. His inside story is open to the world now, and all the mysteries of the man are finally closed. This anthology draws upon those primary sources and constructs a first-hand image of the world’s greatest legend, the man who took the world by storm and never relinquished his hold.
