I'm so exultant...my schedule's finally picking up, and I love a routined schedule. It makes me feel complete. So now I have play practise everyday, dance upon mondays, violin lessons upon fridays, orchestra practise, and i'll start quizbowl soon-ish. I've also been doing a lot of babysitting/petsitting on the sides. Just so I can raise more monies for The Sims 2 and Star Wars trilogy on DVD!! Uber squee!
We have a 'Poetry Cafe' in Creative Writing Wednesday. It'll be awesome..we get to drink coffee, tea, eat and listen to poems and songs recited. And be Beatnics for half the class, meaning we can't clap but just snap. If I had a BERET I would wear it. But I don't. I've been wanting one for eons. I'll probably do Queen's Bohemian Rapsody for the recital and say it all dramatic-like. Just because I remember the whole song easily and it'd be fun to dramatize the piano section.:
"I see a little...silhouetto of a man!
Scaramouche! SCARAMOUCHE! ...Will you not do the fandango?
Thunderbolts and lightening.....very....very frightening me..
GALILEO!.."
First day of dance season rocked the casbah. We started to learn the beginning of our dance for the yearly half-time basketball game, and it's really funky. True that it's a remix of NSYNC's Dirty Pop, but it's still neat and really fast. The freshmen will be on the other side of the court, so we thankfully won't have to deal with their skankiness. And on a note, I really need new tap shoes.
Ms. Kinion's including me in the town orchestra, which is stupendous. I'll miss a few practises and a really cool dress rehersal from the state orchestra because of my absense to India, but that's okay. We go through winter and do a huge performance in Spring. I'm psyched. I don't know that many of the students doing it too, except Shaunna I think, but that's okay.
The Indian classical dance program last night was superb. I've never seen one before, and this being my first one, was really numinous. The classical singers and musicians played live while the dancers performed the 5-act peice depicting one of the Hindu deity's life. They were so professional and did a bunch of footwork that made me just gape. Not to mention all the guy dancers were really cute. They all came from India to perform, except the star lady who has been living in Portland for a few years. I'm not used to really cool things coming our way, so it was awesome. After dropping by Burger King quick, we departed home at like, midnight. Thus, I was tired. But it was worth it.
Now I better go finish my painting...or I'll be behind in class. Stupid watercolor.
