My poor kitty :(
So Mom called me today and told me that Rena has been missing for a few weeks now.
She got out of the house before Mom and Dad left for Steamboat Springs for the weekend so they left the garage cracked open so both cats could go in and out and hoping Rena would come back. They got back and Chato was fine but Rena still hadn't come back.
Then about a week later there was a bobcat walking down the street onto our property, it ran as soon as it saw Dad.
So our theory is that either the bobcat chased both cats and Chato got away (not as likely because I don't think Rena and Chato stick together).
Other theory is that bobcat got Rena and then came back because it still smelled Chato.
So we've been keeping Chato inside unless Dad is there to watch him, but by this point we've given up hope for Rena.
Chato has been really jumpy lately he's always watching the windows like he knows something is out there so something happened or he at least saw the bobcat.
But I already miss my kitty. Yeah she was getting old but I thought she was gonna live a quiet life of an old cat and die at like 20 years old or something.
It'll be weirder when I actually go home and not see my Rena. She was my kitty :'(
At least we still have Chato, and he's half Rena. And then we were planning getting Dad a bengali kitten like he's always talked about for his birthday so Chato can have a playmate and so Dad can breed cats again if he wants to.
