October 1st? Please. Mine have been up for almost 2 weeks! My Christmas tree and lights are usually up by Thanksgiving, too. I prefer to think of holidays as seasons, rather than just days. This way, whoever comes to Connor's birthday parties will see the Halloween decorations, and whoever wanders over during Thanksgiving will see the x-mas stuff!
