Almost killed by botulism?

Oh deardeardear.

I am currently without internet, and it's challenging. I wanted to make bread, but I couldn't look up a recipe. I wanted to learn what botulism was (and thus not die from it), but google was not available to help me. Why does it seem like SUCH a chore to haul out the old dictionary? I used to be all over that shit in elementary and jr high.

What was the first thing I did when I got to a computer? Watched Volga, of course.

Also, here's something: the zippers on all my things with zippers are breaking. Are zippers poorly manufactured now a days, or am I just real bad at zippers? I need to know.

Being unemployed is pretty much the best.
While I am quite worried about getting a job, I'm also quite excellent at compartmentalizing that worry.
Also, HOW could I even LOOK for a job without the internet. It's hard to say.
Ohhh, speaking of that, I'm going to do a job search right now (flash forward: it was depressing).
Disclaimer: I am totally aware of the HUGE amount of privilege that is involved in taking a break for working just 'cause the opportunity came up. I am so so so grateful that I have this time to slack completely off, go to the gym, and work on ridiculous craft/food projects.

I've been to the gym 4 times since the ol' car crash, and I'm much better now. Real outta shape, however - but it's coming back pretty fast. Tonight was the first time that I wasn't frustrated by my limitations.

Did I mention that I won a free week at the other Goodlife in my town? I told them that I was going away for two weeks so that I could squeeze the free week in after the free month at the uptown goodlife is done. Then I'm going to try to hop on the student plan, I think. Goodlife just bought Nubody's, so there will be 3 clubs that I can go to, which is excellent seeing as I only like 2 types of classes (and NOTHING ELSE!) and those classes aren't ever often enough or in convenient enough time slots for me.

Are you still reading? Even after the gym info? Really? Amazing!

I've kinda let go of some of the things I had planned for fUnemployment 09 and picked up some other things. Like polymer clay. Amazing!

Also, Z and I have made a pact that our house will be a Kraft/Pepsi Co free zone (Coke included, obviously, but that ban has been up longer) after we realized that all of our cereal and juice came from those two awful jerks. We're now making our own cereal, which isn't very expensive and is 900x more fun than buying cereal. Just sayin. Plus I think it's way better for us. Plus it is AMAZING.
Disclaimer: sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with the realization that I don't know WHERE things from the bulkbarn come from/who owns it, but since I haven't been able to google it (and am currently on my way out the door now - so oop, still can't) so that thought gets compartmentalized too.

Juicing is too expensive, so I'm sticking to water, but he may make other plans.

Ok! I'm going home now. To read BOOKS, because that's what you do when you don't have a refuse of feminist sites to peruse. I just bought the original Wizard of Oz - they had it at the Salvation Army for $1. The inside dedication is so charming.

Love!
