Basically, once it's recorded, as in, on paper or tape or CD whatever then it's your intellectual property. You can register it to make it look good on paper, but you don't have to. This applies to literature, music, and I'm not sure what else it could apply to, so let's set the limit there.
I made this hardcore porn film a couple months ago, and I'm putting it through the copyright process. The lady who works at the office says I can copyright it for free if she can sleep with me. How cheap and easy is *that*!?
