When all of your friends are gone at their own colleges and you have absolutely fucking nothing to do, Portland really really sucks. PSU sucks. I play the happy college student so that people don't worry about me, but I honestly would never wish this on anybody. It's so lonely, and you get so lost in the crowd. I hate it.
Someone once told me this is the only time in our life where we can be kids. Where we can do whatever the fuck we want without having to worry about getting a paycheck at the end of the day. So if you're liking Arizona, and you're finding your place, don't ignore it. Cause it's so much harder to start all over than it is to just adjust the home you've already made for yourself there. If I could, I'd go back to my old college despite the suckiness of it just because there's a community. There's nothing here.
And I've tried to get involved with the newswriting and journalism courses here on campus, and there isn't much support for it at all.... just being honest...
So think very very carefully about your decisions. You are very lucky to be much more able to afford college than others are... so don't forget to appriciate and make use of that.
I'm not saying don't go to portland... I AM saying don't leave your home. And if home is there, then stay. Nothing is permanent, including the feeling you had at the beginning of the year as I'm sure you can see... portland would love to see you back, but it sounds like so would arizona...
Take care sweet thing, I'll talk to you lata... Miss ya!
