Just Get Through This Night - (bridge)

The following takes place, possibly, during the bridge of "Just Get Through This Night".

Jonathan couldn’t look away from Kilroy standing in the spotlight where they had torn down the animatronic Kilroy just days before. He could hardly tell the difference now. He felt that same cold dread in his stomach when he had spotted the roboto and raised the fake guitar to defend himself. He didn’t have some plastic guitar to hit over Righteous’ head. He didn’t have a gun. The laser pen in his pocket could do some damage, but he wasn’t stupid enough to try anything. Righteous’ right hand men were flanking Kilroy. Vanish’s gun was pointed at Kilroy’s head while Hyde’s was pointed at Jonathan.

“I’m being very generous, Chance. I’m giving you a choice.” Righteous’ voice echoed just as if his recorded greeting was playing, though he wasn’t raising his voice in the least. “Let Kilroy become my model citizen and poster boy for the new and improved rehabilitation program… Or we kill him and you can take his place in jail until we scramble that rock and roll poison out of your head like we did with your hero.” Righteous gave a toothy grin as malevolent as some twisted Cheshire cat. “Former rock convict having seen the error of his ways, willfully reforms… Jonathan Chance, rebel leader, feels betrayed by his hero and murders him in cold blood. It’s nothing new, Chance. We’ll have to stage it properly, of course. Maybe you loose it at work when you discover him there, living a normal life? Think of the causalities from your impudent rage.”

“You’re crazy.” Jonathan says it before he even realizes and takes a step back when Hyde steps forward.

Righteous only grins more, holding a hand up and Hyde steps back. Behind the aviator glasses Vanish and Hyde are wearing it’s impossible to gauge their reactions. Jonathan doesn’t think removing the shades would make much difference.

“Make your choice. Either way, you will walk out of here alive. I promise you that. But it’s up to you for how long Kilroy gets to live. I really don’t think it’s a difficult decision, Chance.”
