DISTURBED SHOW--really really long
wow yesterday was so much fun. Disturbed/Dry Kill Logic at Starland was SO cool.
We left here at 6 because we wanted to get there at 7 or 730 so we could hang out with DKL before they went on. Even though weve been to starland like a million times, we still got lost. We went a half hour out of our way. So its 7:30, Dry Kill Logic goes on at 8 and were at exit 154 and the exit were supposed to get off is 123. 31 exits in a half hour... wow it really sucked. So we finally got there ant it was 8:05. I have NEVER seen this place with so many cars and people there. it was unbelievable.
we end up having to park in the parking lot across the street. we park but the stupid car pakring guy is like "no no no you have to get closer." so jewell has to re-park the car. we get out of the car and we start running to starland because we thought maybe DKL didnt go on yet for some reason. once we get across the street, we see that the line to get inside is around the building. i was like wtf? ive never seen it like this before. Me nd Jewell are standing there with no coats on and we start to hear music from inside. We were like "is it them? no its not loud enough. It kinda sounds like them..." So we FINALLY get inside and its quiet. so we figured that they didnt go on yet and they would soon. So we go to the bathroom and then go out into the big room with the stage. What do we see? Phils drums being carried off stage. it was the most annoying thing in the world. So we go to the left side of the stage and the guitarist, Jason, is standing there. He remembered us from the show at BBKings and hes like "yeah we just finished playing." so then asked where phil was and he said he was outside.
SO i called jon to get phils number. I called but phil didnt answer. 2 minutes after i hung up, phil walked in! he was like "Awww you guys missed us? that sux!" so the 3 of us stood there and watched this 15 minute guitar solo. After that, this band Corrosion of Comformity (or something like that) was supposed to go on. Phil had to go so we said goodbye to him and told him we were gonna try and make our way up to the front of the stage. All he said to us was "Good luck, BE CAREFUL and get home safe".
So me and jewell went to the back of the *SOLD OUT* crowd and started working our way. Everyone was pretty calm while COC was on. They sucked, lol i was yawning the whole time. Then this guy called "LizardMan" came out and was doing all this weird stuff. he put a really big hook up his nose... then he put a power drill up his nose. THEN he took a condom, put it in his mouth and blew it up like a balloon out his mouth. it was so weird! He hung weights from his eye sockets and his ears...it was gross.
Then the lights went out because distrubed was coming on... by this time we had worked our way further up and to the right. we were pretty close to the stage. the first song they do when they came out was "guarded" (ill put that on myspace so you can hear it) and everyone starts going crazy. people are pushing and its so hard to just stand there and concentrate on the stage because your worried about keeping your balance. me and jewell had our arms hooked the whole time so we wouldnt lose each other. jewell got scratched on her arm and elbowed right above her eye. lol and this was only the first song. the next song they did was liberate. my two favorite songs by them right in a row! would ya look at that. you can imagine how happy i was. this one he tells eveyone to jump. hmm lets take a minute and picture this one... theres a sold out crowd... so there are like hundreds of people in this little room and you barely have room to move your arms above your head. he tells everyone to jump so everyone starts jumping with the tiny space they have. people are falling and then right next to us a mosh pit starts... but its huge. so we start getting pushed from that and from the people jumping. it was such a good show.
then after they played for an hour and 45 minutes, they go "thank you guys! your the best" and they walk off the stage. so we start chanting "DISTURBED DISTURBED DISTURBED" and were stomping our feet and yelling and clapping. so FINALLY they come back out and do 3 songs. the first is stricken. this really drunk girl next to me took my hand and put it in the air, lol she made me and jewell get so into the music. we were jumping and singing. it was so much fun. then the last song was Down With The Sickness. omg he does that scream in that song, its the best! Ohhh Ahh Ahh Ahh Ahh. he has the most amazing voice ever, i <3 him. so we really got into that and it was so much fun. the final song they did was a tribute to this guy that died a year ago yesterday. but we left during that because we didnt want all the cars to cause a lot of traffic and us have to wait in that. when i got outside, the 25 degree air felt SO good.
lol oh yeah, on more funny thing. were leaving and this guys handing out CDs and i was liek "thanks!" and he goes "sure... YOUR HOTT" and me and jewell just burst out laughing. he was so drunk, drunk people are so funny!
so we get to the car adn what do we put on? Drowning Pool and then Dry Kill Logic (to make up for missing them). Its about 1230 by the time we leave there and we were starving and soo thirsty so we got on the garden state parkway and found a rest stop. WOOHOO i love burger king at 1:15 in the morning. lol that was funny too... we had every single sauce possible and we were dipping our fries in all of them, it was hysterical. we were so loud and hyper and the other people there were just staring at us. haa.
so we get back in the car and guess what jewell does. she gets on the garden state parkway SOUTH. we were supposed to be going north. when we get to the toll we were like oh shit... so we had to go around continental airlines and then get on north. the whole way home form there we put on linkin park and turn it all the way up and were singing to that. we got home at like 215 ish. i went to sleep and didnt wake up till 530 and had my mommy tell me that there was NO SCHOOL!!! yay! i couldnt sleep and got up at 730 and came on the computer and talked to mike a little bit. then went back to sleep till 12 and now im really wanting to go play in the snow. lol bye!
