Again, Garbage - Why Do You Love Me?
Remeber when I said that there was a strong possibility that this song would grow on me in the same fashion that "Push It" did?
Yeah, I was wrong.
Although, I will admit, it's catchy and I have been listening to it a lot. I do like it slightly more then when I first heard it, but I just can't get past how generic it sounds. I discussed this with Rob. No matter how crappy BeautifulGarbage was, at least it was different. At least Garbage was trying to do something with it; it was some type of progression.
"Why Do You Love Me?" just seems so... blah. It's almost as if sensing their failure on BeautifulGarbage, Garbage decided not to reinvent themselves at all, rather, just produce some middle of the road rock songs, that won't outrage OR impress anyone.
One of my favourite quotes was always: "Garbage - Rock music you can dance to? Or dance music you can rock to?"
Now it's neither. It's now rock music you can turn off.
*Sigh* I'm going to go listen to Version 2.0.
