...yeah, we've been familiar with each other for quite some time, now. I raised Sudowoodo from a Bonsly...he used to cry so often...

A familiar. A creature bound to you by magical means.

Ah! I see...well, I wouldn't use the terms "bound" or "magical", but...the basic idea's the same, I guess.

Pokemon and trainer are mutual partners. A trainer's duty is to provide for and assist a Pokemon, while the Pokemon's duty is to assist and protect their trainer. If a pokemon doesn't trust its trainer, it's likely to rebel or not listen.

That being said, I'd like to think that I command a certain level of respect from my Pokemon.
