7x03 A Town Called Mercy

Got bored. Not a very interesting take on this week's ethical debate, little character development, a bit of a waste of the Western setting.

7x04 The Power of Three

Really liked the set-up of this episode. Nice to see Rory's Dad again, I like episodes where the Doctor has to spend Earth time, Rory and Amy's life was fun, and the invasion of small boxes was interesting and well set up. Just let down by two things: the ridiculously quick crisis resolution, and the corny last line. But I enjoyed this one.

7x05 The Angels Take Manhattan

Overall, I really liked this. A few odd notes and some corny dialogue, and I wasn't sure about the angel babies or the Statue of Liberty[1], but mostly I liked it. The one thing that puzzled me was why it seemed as though the Doctor wasn't bothered about leaving one on the loose in New York at the end after it had zapped Rory and Amy. Michael McShane was underused too. But I liked the pathos throughout the episode, and thought it was a (predictable but) fitting end for Amy and Rory, recasting time again but eventually going off to live another life together. I was irritated by River part of the time, but my favourite bit was the bit where she broke her own wrist and tried to hide it from the Doctor (though corny follow-up was corny). It was nice to see Shouty Doctor making a return.

[1a] Um, actually, I thought Angels turn to *stone* when you look at them. Isn't the Statue of Liberty made of copper?

[1b] But it was nice to see the culmination of the idea that Moffat set in our heads in the very first Weeping Angel story (the one with Sally Sparrow in s3), where at the end it looked like any statue could be an Angel.
