Merlin 4x03

I'm not reviewing every episode of Merlin, but I am watching. And I can't let last night's episode pass without comment. Firstly I was to say:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I don't want to lose Uther, he's pretty much the most awesome thing in Merlin :( However, his fight scene with Phil Davis? Awesome :)

Phil Davis was sadly underused here - they should have saved him for a better part.

But perhaps my biggest complaint about this episode is how sad it was. I felt so depressed when it finished that I couldn't watch anything else! And OK, so there was some good pathos, and earlier on they'd mixed in some pretty nice comedy stuff from Old Merlin. And Merlin accidentally killing Uther was proper grown up storyline stuff and I approve of that.

BUT

Why why why, Gaius? Why find out that Morgana enchanted the pendant and then NOT TELL ARTHUR? I could understand not telling Arthur in the previous series when he didn't realise Morgana was evil and might not have believed it. But HE KNOWS NOW. Gaius could have revealed she was responsible, and made sure Arthur was angry at the right person instead of letting him think all of magic is bad and wrong. *FACEPALM*

I'm sorry, I had an unaccustomed outbreak of capslock there...

review, merlin
