TV and Film things

In a vain attempt to have a break from work for a minute, I'll tell you what I'm enjoying fandom-wise at the moment.

First there's the aforementioned children's TV show Ooglies (if you think marching mushrooms with eyes going 'Ooogah!' are as funny as I do, you'll love it - a lot of it's quite clever and there are film references).

Then there's Law and Order UK, which is already most of the way through this series :( The last two weeks have featured awesome guest stars: Kevin McNally (Gibbs from POTC), Denis Lawson (Wedge Antilles from Star Wars) and Michael Maloney (the nasty doctor from Robin Hood 1x13!). Last night this prompted me to have a very strange but enjoyable dream where Denis Lawson (or maybe the character he was playing) was one a JRF panel that had rejected me and I went and complained and basically offered him everything...

Meanwhile, Heroes is completely bemusing me. I quite like the new deaf character, but the circus is really getting on my nerves, and I miss the awkward geeky Ando, and Gretchen is getting very annoying, and... well, Nathan! Hmm. See, no spoilers there :) Not that if I gave you a spoiler it would make any sense whatever. Sometimes I flirt with the idea of not watching it, but I always end up coming back to it, mostly because there is *nothing else on TV on a Saturday night*.

Midsomer Murders on Wednesday was so obviously going to be boring and dreadful (despite an appearance from Rik Mayall!) that I gave up on it after about half an hour.

Meanwhile, there are always the delights of QI and Mock the Week, and University Challenge, Eggheads, Krypton Factor and Mastermind - but 8 out of 10 Cats has become rather boring.

The only things that are keeping me going at the moment (what with the lack of Dr Who and FlashForward) are watching old things - namely rewatching FlashForward 1-10 (am up to 4), and watching (for me for the first time) series 5 and 6 of Spooks (which were great - I'm a bit in love with Ros and Malcolm). Oh yes, and Pirates (have watched the trilogy through twice in the last month or so). Yay!
