Heroes

I have two things to say about this week's (i.e. on BBC2) Heroes:

1) Noooooooo, Adam! Why on earth did they have to do that? Actually, one of the things that's been niggling me about Adam is that they really didn't bother to give his character enough depth. When he first appeared as Kensei, I thought the character was a brilliant idea - a drunkard English mercenary who ended up becoming a noble Japanese hero. Then there was all the revenge stuff interfering with that, but at least I thought, when he appeared in the present day, that there might be a lot of pathos attached to his character, as is often the case with immortal or long-living characters (Angel, Longinus, the Doctor, etc., etc.). So I was extremely disappointed as that wonderful idea degenerated into a shallowly drawn Adam going about his cheap revenge with no internal monologue whatsoever. And to cap it all, he didn't even get the redemption I wanted for him in the current series - they killed him off to fuel Mr Petrelli, who really doesn't appeal to me at all.

2) I can't believe I was right about the retractable sword thing!
