I watched a film called Timeline last night, which James had kindly recorded for me. Has anyone seen or even heard of it ( Read more... )

Oh, hm. I read the Crichton novel it was based on, I didn't know it had been adapted. The novel seemed pretty generic to me, I'm curious to see it worked fairly well as a film.

It was certainly colourful, and I think it gained a lot from being... let's say substantial. Everything was very chunky and 3D and the sound effects were good. I don't think it *was* directed by Ridley Scott, but it'd certainly learnt a lot from his style.

I didn't know it was a book first! I can imagine reading it might be more plodding that watching it.

P.S. I've been sitting on your email reply for over a week now. Just poke me or something :)

P.P.S. I'm working on my Christ's application at the moment, and the font they use is Trebuchet MS :)

LOL. Indeed, I commented when I saw Da Vince Code that an arguably vapid book often made an exciting, subtle film, so maybe I was right :)

*hugs* Always. Have you written anything? If so why not send that and write more later. How are you, other than applications?

Trebuchet MS :)

LOL. Probably more distinguished than "MS Rocket" :)

Whereas when I saw that film, I observed that it was remarkably true to the book.

whom some of us will always think of as Borias!

Not Khrafstar or Br'Nee then? Or even Celeborn?

Goodness, I'd forgotten he was in Farscape! Yes, all of those too :)

And Dr. Thingy in Shortland Street and Guy de Lousignon in KoH as well.

I just found this quote from him on Borias:

I don't see Borias as being bad. I see him as a person who is loyal to his principles, with war being a part of his world. His fundamental motivation was derived from survival, principles of war, family, and even love, and the maintaining of a life beyond just running around killing people. So, in a way, he has quite an honest profession.
