(Time that never stop flowing…)

“Yao-Yao!!”

Yao rolled his eyes----an attitude that he learned from Im Yong Soo----and braced himself with another wild hug that would deprive his breath (not that he needed it…but…). And right in time, Ivan attacked him from behind. Again.

“Yao-Yao!! I don’t like the food!! Can I have yours, da?”

“No.” A short and direct reply.

It had been thirty years passed since the time when they countered General Winter. When he remembered back, Yao seemed like he wanted to die when he found Ivan bleeding beside General Winter. The blood was everywhere and the time when he came, the loss of blood had become too much for a human. It was almost too late---even for him---to save Ivan.

Ivan just smiled like usual, but with softer edge and kissed the corner of his left eye gently. “You’re crying, Yao-Yao. Isn’t it a good explanation that you have heart?”

Joking till the last… But Yao was too startled when he felt the running tears. When…when the last time he had cried? Did he ever cry?  The train of thought stopped when gentle hand wiped the tears away.

“Will Yao grant my wish?”

Yao felt a hand cup his face, startled he looked up. And saw the violet eyes. Something that was mesmerizing him till no end. Like when he first saw it, like when he thought that it would be the last he saw it. With mind still in the past, he held Ivan’s hand back.

“Can I, Yao?”

“Yes…” Yao replied automatically, didn’t registered what he had talk about till Ivan jumping happily, like a child in candy store. “Yay~!! I can have Yao’s blood!!!”

Yao blinked. Ah? ahh?

“Y-You tricked me!!?” Yao scowled. ”Fine. But later, Ivan…I’m busy now. I must arrange these flowers as a gift to Mei…our next stop is Taipei. She had asked us to visit for some time now…”

He smiled. Even after thirty years, Ivan was still adjusting his new life. For whatever he wished, there was price. For his part, he must sacrificed the warm place, the sun that he loved so much and the blue sky that he adored for exactly five hundred years----if he could survive for so long----there were very little of their kind that could live that long.

The usual age for the common vampires were two to three hundreds. It may because of the mentally that couldn’t hold to live so long, the wariness of mind, or maybe of the case with adult human that had been turned and had difficulty to adapt, like killing or the brutalizing way of their kind that for some way or another, killed each other, or getting hunted by noisy human. So many things could happen.

Somehow, Yao was sure that Ivan would survive. Sometime he even thought that maybe he had done a great mistake by welcoming Ivan to their rank. (He truly was a terrible force…with unknowing limit of capacity and unstable mindset with only Yao that could control him) Well, not that he was willingly turned him…At first, he would let Ivan die peacefully but the former human disregarded everything that he had thought for him (so much for the so called mental struggling---Yao groaned) and being selfish as usual.

And because Ivan now was a vampire (albeit the young one). Yao didn’t need to create another secret and lie for his lover identity or even try to hide everything. Both of them just travelling together and had seen as inseparable force that wrecked havoc anywhere they went. (it mostly Ivan’s fault! He didn’t want to be associated with wild rampage!)

Because of his uncontrollable bloodlust (something that Yao shrugged lightly as ‘youth energy’) Ivan quickly gained reputation... So the other vampires----because of the damn boredom----decided to snoop around. From the noisy Arthur and Francis (they’re curious about someone that the picky Yao had chosen after five millennia) and then young Alfred (that regarded Ivan as intolerable annoying pest that grated his nerves and declared him as ‘rival’).

All in all, everything looked nice enough in the term of friend (or rival)…until the news reached his family.

When he first heard of him, Kiku immediately came to visit. With all of his haughtiness and emotionless, he glared at Ivan and slashed him with his katana…something that of course, Ivan gladly retaliated with his new ability----the over ordinary-vampire strength (same gift with Alfred that made both of them more vigorous at the rivalry thing).

Nevertheless, Yao’s other manor at Athens didn’t stand a chance….Of course whoever that came next----his other siblings; Yong Soo, Mei, and Xiang----didn’t give much help. That day, Yao’s head was pounding non-stop.

With restrain groan, Yao continue his flower arranging. That one was a strange experience that made his siblings didn’t even leave his side for ten years----and that was amazing record for they didn’t even visit him for hundred years and refused the countless invitation for the sake of works. At the end, it was also because of the works that dragged them away from Yao. But it didn’t stop the letters and threat that if Yao didn’t answer just one than Ivan would suffer (until this day, Yao still pondering why his siblings acted like that).

He distracted again by the soft kiss at his hair and Yao just leaned back at the comforting embrace. He had accustomed with constant affection from Ivan, from the usual morning or goodnight kisses till the random one just because he looked ‘cute’. “Yao?”

“Hm?”

“I’m glad that I can be with you.”

Yao eyes widened at pleasant surprise and smiled. He titled his head and softly kissed Ivan, making the said vampire smiled happily.

“Will Yao grant my wish?”

Violet eyes stared back at him, shining tenderly with love and pain. Yao just nodded, pale hand cup the face gently, tears staining the golden eyes.

“Then I wish to be with you.” Ivan continued, smile at the shocked face of his beloved. “Whatever and however it takes…”

And he kissed Yao in lips, it was bloody and chapped but delivered with so much tenderness that it felt painful. A single wish. A single promise.

“…For eternity.”

FIN

(sigh) It’s over now...better that the story doesn’t stay at my place too long...I have habit to drag or change it over and over again. Hope for you to enjoy this story that start with calm opening and calm ending. There’s still a lot that I want to write, about their background, their history, their ability, or their kin...but at the least, I decided just to focus at one aspect---their bond with each others with slow pace.

Well, and about the other request...it also interesting plot...Must admit, that I’ve difficulty to choose which one at the first (I’ve imagine Poland with all of his greatness and flamboyant pink shirt as director and say: ‘Cut! Cut! Yao, you two must, like, inseparable lovebirds! Don’t kick him! Ivan, hugging Yao, giggling: ‘Yao-Yao just a shy person, da~’ And Yao with red face kick him harder: ‘Go to HELL, BRAGINSKI!!!’)

(laugh) Oh well, maybe someday~
