AN: I know you didn't request this, but I wanted to write something for your birthday, so I hope you like it!
Batgirl was almost done with patrol and was heading over to her last check point. It had been a quiet night. Only two attempted muggings and one failed b&e.
She was heading home when she saw a flash of red out of the corner of her eye. She stopped and turned, but there was nothing there. She stood motionless for a moment. Her eyes scanning the entire area before her.
Batgirl noticed a figure approaching slowly. She positioned herself for an attack and waited patiently. When the figure turned the corner, Batgirl reached out, grabbed and threw her attacker against the wall.
“Ugh! I don't think I'm going to surprise you at work anymore.”
“Roy?” Cass quickly removed her cowl and helped him up, “I'm sorry. Are you okay?”
“I will be, but-”
“What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to see you.” His eyes sparkled brightly, “and I didn't want to wait until the weekend.”
Cass couldn't help but smile. Now more than ever, she was glad she went against Bruce's wishes and decided to keep on seeing Roy.
“C'mon, lets go home.” she said.
“Okay, but I'm still in pain and-”
“Don't worry.” Cass replied, leaning in to whisper in his ear, “I'll make it all better.”
