The last time Robin worked with Wildcat, he’d been in awe of the former champ. The man had trained Bruce back in the day. He actually trained the Batman. That’s…Robin had no words for it really. Plus, he was one of the first heroes to start fighting the good fight. World-Class Heavyweight turned JSA hero. How could someone not be impressed?
But, Robin was older now. Very much a hero others looked up to. He’d experienced the darker side of humanity, struggled, but came out on top. There was no reason he couldn’t be professional while working with a colleague.
Colleague. Robin liked the sound of that.
“Hey, Champ.” Robin intended to say, but his voice cracked during the first word. Tim closed his eyes and simply wanted to disappear, have the Earth open up and swallow him whole.
Ted chuckled, “You ready, kid?”
Unwilling to test his voice again, Robin simply nodded, and jumped off after him.
