Catwoman raced across the various Gotham rooftops and found him looking down into the city from atop Wayne Enterprises. He was draped all in black, none of his body exposed.
“Took you long enough,” Black Hood spoke without looking at her.
Her voice was steady even though her heart was pounding in her chest and her thighs burned from running so fast, “What do you want, Damian?” she asked, her eyes narrowed with suspicion.
He turned to look at her. How he hated that damn black Catwoman costume she wore, “Thought you might want to be here when I welcomed our last living relative to the family.”
She took a step towards him, not believing what he said, “What do you mean?”
“Don’t play the fool, Helena.” Damian replied, his voice dripping venom, “It doesn’t suit you.”
She took another step towards him and swallowed, “How did you find out?”
He shrugged and he took off the black hood exposing his face to her for the first time since Bruce Wayne’s death, “You forget I have my grandfather’s resources at my disposal. It wasn’t easy, but I found the proof I wanted.”
Helena thought she had gotten rid of any and all existing evidence, just as her father had asked her to do. She decided to appeal to her half-brother’s altruistic side, hoping he still had one, “He doesn’t know.”
A small, disturbing smile made its way across Damian’s lips and if Helena had not known him, it would have frightened her. Cold blue eyes looked into furious blue ones and he hated that both had inherited them from their father, “It’s about time he finds out. Don’t you agree?”
“Don’t do it.” Helena warned, her grip tightening around the whip’s handle.
“Afraid he’ll take away daddy’s things?” he mocked.
“You want daddy’s things, you can have them. I’ve told you that before. Leave Terry out of this.”
“No, I don’t think I will. Batman should know who his real father is. He should know the man that trained him is responsible for his life. He should know that Mr. McGinnis-”
“Stay away from him!”
Damian laughed, low and cruel, as he put the hood on again, “I’ll give you a week. If you haven’t told him by then, I will. Either way, he’ll wonder why his trusted partner never told him the truth.”
Catwoman watched Black Hood jump off then closed her eyes dreading what had to be done.
