Nobody ran, but they all wanted to. Possible clients, future lovers and rendezvous’ waited. The waiters whizzed by unnoticed, refilling glasses with the most expensive champagne they ever poured. Couples danced to the upbeat music. Jewelry and hair flailed recklessly about.
She walked in and everyone took notice, including him. She was a vision in black and her smile warmed him up like nothing else could. He made his way over to her, dodging many beautiful women along the way.
He only wanted her.
She was surrounded by various men by the time he arrived, but he had little trouble fighting them off to get her to the dance floor. As if on cue, the music slowed down and they swayed silently to it. No one else was there. Only they two mattered at that moment. It was their moment.
