I am so glad I changed my #25 before I posted this meme, because Luthor fit so nicely into this story! ;)
________
Remy’s father hated Lex Luthor and Lex Luthor hated his father, that was no secret. Both men were thieves, but while Jean Luc was proud of it, Lex hid behind his big corporation and played the philanthropist to the city of Metropolis. When Jean Luc refused to sell his New Orleans land to Lex, Luthor crossed the line placing a bounty on the other man's head.
Ten million dollars was hard to resist and within two days, assassins from all over the world rained in on Louisiana. Most of the LeBeaus were killed. Remy's brother, his cousins, and of course his father. Remy swore then, Luthor would pay.
He sought to take from Luthor that which he loved most, his money. Something that though not an easy feat, was no problem for Remy. Job after job, artifact or high tech device, Remy stole from his greatest enemy, accumulating a small fortune in the process. He planned to steal Luthor’s most valued possession, a meteorite of little value that Lex paid a fortune for. A meteorite that was guarded better than most crown jewels.
The night finally arrived. Metropolis’ Black and White Ball hosted by Luthor himself was in full swing when Remy arrived. It was well known that Luthor never stayed long at any event. He made the customary rounds then left as soon as he could. Remy was counting on it that evening. If Luthor was out of the building, the security was cut back in half.
While waiting to make his move, Remy mingled with guests effortlessly, but was careful not to draw too much attention to himself. As much as he pretended, though, he simply couldn’t enjoy himself.
Finally, Lex Luthor made his appearance. That’s when Remy saw him. He walked alongside Luthor greeting guests, shaking hands, without a doubt playing the host. Yet, he looked too young to be with Luthor…
“Y’ know who dat is, chere?” Remy asked the woman he’d been dancing with.
“That’s Luthor’s son.”
His son!? So, Luthor had a son… Remy smiled to himself. Forget the rock, he now knew how to really hurt Lex.
“Scuse me, chere," Remy bowed and kissed the back of the woman’s hand, “I be right back.”
