“So, you’re the newest addition, huh?” Spoiler asked.
If he was surprised by her sudden appearance, he didn’t show it. He held his head high and after a few moments condescended to turn towards her.
“What do you want? Not going to whine about your girlfriend, are you?”
“Nope. Just wanted to see it for myself,” Spoiler replied, removing her hood and mask. “You know, I came here all ready to hate you,” she smiled sugary-sweet at him, “but you look kinda cute…all little and adorable in your Robin costume.”
She managed to pinch his cheek for a second before he pulled back and shoved her hand away violently.
“Attempt that again and I’ll kill you!”
“Robin!”
Batman landed at their side
“Spoiler’s one of us. That won’t be how you talk to her.”
“Don’t worry, boss,” she said, feeling strange as the words left her mouth, “We were just about to kiss and make up. Right, Robin?”
Robin mumbled under his breath as Spoiler leaned down and kissed his cheek.
She slipped her mask back on, then mock saluted, “Time to get back to work,” she said and vanished.
“That was good. You’re getting better,” Batman said, placing a reassuring hand on the boy’s shoulder.
Robin shrugged it off.
“If you say so,” he grumbled.
When Batman turned to leave, Robin followed, but not before pressing his fingers against the side of his face that had just been kissed.
