And I'm Back!

I believe I have now beaten Kiery in the longest amount of time between posts. Been busy over here, I have been reading and commenting, but not much else. Not sure if there is a specific reason why I did that, just happened.

Life is going pretty well. My job is amazing. I had my three month review in October and it went really well. Its nice working for a company that gives me goals and tasks they want to see me achieve and is willing to help me achieve them. Makes me feel like part of a team. Not like my last job.

My parents are coming to visit in December!!!! For so long they said they wouldn't be able to come, but with my dad's early retirement and my sister moving out they have a lot of time on their hands now. My dad will be job hunting after the holidays though, I don't think he would be able to stand not working. My parents are in London right now, having a great time.

We are doing Thanksgiving here this year again, and Christmas in California. Should be interesting, I have never spent Christmas in a place where you could swim on Christmas day in an outdoor pool.

Joe was in Japan for the last 12 days, he arrived home yesterday to the lovely downpour that is Portland currently. Nonstop rain, so much so that the gutters and drainage system can't keep up. Lots of flooding on surface streets and standing water on the highways. Yuck!

We also booked the honeymoon!!!! We will be going to Montego Bay, Jamaica for 7 nights right after the wedding. Originally, we didn't think we could take the honeymoon right after the wedding, but when I switched jobs I discovered I would have more than enough vacation time to do so. Plus, when I told HR that I would be getting married, they told me that even if I didn't have the time accrued they would let me dip into future accrued vacation for a wedding. I love my job!

I have also rediscovered reading. For so long after I finished grad school, my thesis marred my enjoyment of reading for pleasure. I have finally gotten over that and now enjoy reading in the evenings again. Only problem is now I want to spend weekends at Powell's books, so much potential for credit card danger!
