Well, it looks like the last post I made was before we got the house. Let me fill you in as to what's been going on...
-We moved into our new house. And I mean that literally. The house was only here for a year before we moved in. The house that had been here previously was deemed unfit, so they took it down and built the one we live in. Everything was shiny and new. Then a week later we brought over all 3 of the dogs. "Shiny and new" didn't last for very long. I also started getting very serious about making jewelry, so I bought a whole bunch of beads and what-not to make stuff for every body's Xmas. I had a pretty good job and was able to pay the mortgage every month.
-Then I lost my pretty good job. It sucked, but by that point, I was already looking for something else. I was driving over 30 miles a day and catching crap not only from consumers, but from managers as well. They really didn't like it when I would call them on something that was against company policy. About this same time period, two of my best friends decided that they couldn't date each other anymore and one of them needed to move out. He and I talked about it and he decided that moving in with me was his best option. Also, around the same time, my sis Fi started staying with me. My choice, not hers. She needed some stability in her life and I thought I was the best person for it.
-I started seeing Jessica a lot more. At first, I was really reluctant. My aunt and gramma (on my biodad's side) told me that when ever I would go over to see her, after I left, she would spin out of control. Then she started seeing a great counselor and the acting out slowly started to not show up as much. The counselor finally got it into Jessie's head that Rob was NOT her daddy, so then I had to deal with the "Where's my daddy?" and "Who's my daddy?" questions. I think I handled them pretty well.
-Around April of last year, we had a lot of doggie drama. I was out, walking two of our dogs, when out of a house, this pit bull breaks through the house's screen door and attacks my male dog. It was like a horrible dream. Here I am, punching this dog to try and get him to release the hold he has on my male's neck and my female is chasing this little puppy that came out along with the fully grown pit bull. And the roommate of the pit's owner is just standing there, clapping her hands, trying to get the pit's attention. Then the pit turns on me and bites me in several places on my arm. I was just in absolute shock. Finally, the pit backs away from the fight, and my two go off and running. Thankfully, the male comes back that night and we doctor him up, but my female remains missing for two months. During the two months, we end up losing the male that was involved in the fight. So, at this point, we're down to two dogs. Then, a friend of mine calls me one night and asks me if I know anybody looking to adopt a dog. I say that I'm not sure and to bring the dog over so I can see her. Well, as soon as I see her, I ask Josh if we can keep her. My argument is that I think Brighid (my female) is gone for good. So, Josh says yes and we put her in Brighid's cage. The next morning, we get a call from a vet out on the west side of town, stating that someone has found Brighid. I was so overjoyed. We rushed out to get her and when we got there, she still knew who we were. I cried so hard.
-After all that drama, I get a call from a friend of mine out in Illinois stating that she's planning on moving back. I tell her that if she has no where to go when she gets back here, she can move in with us. Well, about a month goes by and I hear nothing. Then, one week, I get a call from her saying that's she'll be in town by the weekend and to make room for her. I also got a new job. It's serving again, but I don't mind it too much.
So, the moral of the story is: When you open your big yap, you end up with 20 fish, 5 rats, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 6 people living in one house.
