So I rarely buy magazines. They stack up while I try to find time to read them and then I just get fed up, flip through to look at the pictures, and then throw them away. So I only buy them every once in a while, when there's a really good cover story or something. I usually buy People, Entertainment or Premiere, and sometimes GQ or Vanity Fair. Yes, I read guy magazines, just like I mostly watch the guy channels* on TV (Spike, G4, SciFi, etc.). I make no apologies, though--I'd much rather enjoy a marathon of Star Trek: The Next Generation than cry at all the stupid movies on Lifetime.
So anyway, I bring all that up to say that there are currently five magazines on my couch. I bought a People a few weeks ago, then another People a week or two later, and I think I bought the GQ with
Shia LaBeouf during my San Jose trip, and I also got a free 6-month subscription to Entertainment so I have a couple of those. It's insane, since I'm also trying to finish up I Am America (And So Can You!) and The Screwtape Letters. But this is the summer to rekindle my love of reading, and I know that I'll breeze through them all--once I straighten up the apartment a bit more. It's hard to relax, sit down and open a magazine when the room I'm in looks like a disaster area. I need bookshelves and storage. Lots of storage. *dreaming of filing cabinets*
*zzzzz--snork!* Oh, hi. Um...yeah. So I'm gonna go back to playing Animal Crossing. Just felt like gabbing about my magazine stack. Good reads. But you don't have to take my word for it. ;-)
If you don't believe that these are "guy" channels, watch for one hour and make note of what kind of commercials you see.
