Okay, since you're all dying to know: the recital went REALLY well. I made some mistakes, but I kept going. And several people told me that I did a good job of handling those mistakes (not making faces or getting upset, and just moving forward), which is a big step forward for me. I got lots of compliments--my teacher, most importantly, was happy--on my playing, and also my kickass dress.
The last pose is a parody on Anne Sophie Mutter's pose on the cover of the Strings Magazine that I put at the bottom. :-D
So now I have to finish the recital paper, then finish out the semester (which includes completing and passing my comprehensive exams).
And now it's time for a happy list. It's gonna be long, which is awesome, 'cause life has been (and still is, to a certain degree) really crappy.
Things that make me happy!
- Eating Chick-Fil-A and shopping at Target with photophreak
- Buying stuff I want, along with stuff I don't need, at Target (like my new Beatles shirt)
- Getting the "Crafts From The Past" book from my Chick-Fil-A kid's meal that I've been wanting for over a year ("The Greeks")
- Getting LOTS of stuff in the mail, like the Sliding Doors DVD, the original motion picture score for One Hour Photo (it's aaaaaaaaaaawesome), and The Oxford Book of English Madrigals
- Being done with my recital.
- I got to see my mommy and daddy.
Well, it's not as long as I thought. But it's all good.
