So I went recital dress shopping tonight...now, don't everybody ask what my dress looks like when I buy it--it's gotta be a surprise for somebody!!! I found one I reeeeeeeeally like at Dillard's, and I'm gonna look a bit more tomorrow. If I don't find anything else, I'm going back to Dillard's (it's on hold for a day). I'll say this much: it's gonna be either red or blue.
So I got an email from my cousin Deborah about her mother, aka my great aunt Perline. Aunt Perline is on my mother's side of the family...she's probably about my grandmother's age, and has similar health issues (Parkinson's, and other things). Anyway, Aunt Perline went to the eye doctor recently...after a harrowing visit (her Parkinson's kept her from sitting still when the doctor was trying to examine her...they both got very frustrated and poor Aunt Perline got so upset that Deborah said she was almost in tears), they still managed to joke a bit at the end of the appointment. You just have to read for yourself:
Eye Doctor: How did this eye get like this?
Aunt Perline: After you've been here a while, things just wear out.
Eye Doctor: But the right eye is all right, aren't both eyes the same age?
Aunt Perline: Well I must have come out sideways, so one eye is older than the other one.
I hope I still have enough brains to be quick-witted like that when I'm in my 80's and 90's!
So, in other news: The insomnia seems to have worked itself out. Now I don't have the fatigue excuse for not getting work done. The only thing holding me back now is motivation. Self-motivation is a very hard thing for me. I don't know how I'm going to make it in the world.
I usually don't wake up in the morning wishing that I didn't have to be alive, but I often feel that way by the end of the day. Anyway, I'm going to bed soon. Good night.
