Long Overdue

I was going to call this entry "The State of the Robynne." Two weeks ago, when I really started thinking that I needed to post something, I thought that would be a good title. Kind of fun, kind of ironically overstating my importance ( Read more... )

Congrats on the job. It sounds perfect for you. I've been meaning to ask you this for a while now and I keep forgetting. So, now that I've remembered, How close are you to graduating from Pomona? It's gotta be coming up here soon. Do you have plans of where you want to work after you do graduate? I know you've always wanted to be an imagineer. Is that still your goal?

I've been thinking a lot about my future lately since I am graduating from my JC in May, so I thought I would check up on you since we haven't talked in a while. If you still want to be an imagineer I say go and get it, follow your dreams. That's what I'm hoping to do once I finish my degree in a couple of years. If you want it bad enough I believe it will happen.

I'm hoping to graduate in June of 2013. And yes, I'm still pursuing a career in Imagineering. I fully intend to do what I can to become an Imagineer. Thanks for your encouragement!

Congratulations on being close to completing JC. Do you have any idea what you want to do after you get your Bachelor's, or are you just focused on transferring for now?

I've just started thinking about where I really want to be after I get my Bachelor's since I've changed my ultimate plan. I have planned on transferring to Sonoma State for a long time, but recently came across an online degree program through Devry University that would allow me to get my Bachelors in Computer Science and be ready for a career in computer forensics since the program includes a specialization in computer forensics. So, I should be able to finish earlier and I won't have to go through a forensics program after graduation. So, I've settled on wanting to eventually end up working for the FBI as an intelligence analyst. I'll probably try and work in a forensics firm or something for a while at first to get some work experience in the field so I'm a more competative candidate when I apply at the FBI. So, that's what I'm thinking and I'm actually excited about it.

Congrats on the job, Robynne! I love it when serendipity happens like that; it must be in the air or something, because it's been happening a lot on the east coast too. Give me a call sometime when you can; I'd love to hear how things have been otherwise!

Random but semi-related: my spring break is March 7-18. Any chance of seeing you in Santa Cruz around then?

I'd love to have a chat with you; I'll give you a call sometime during a period of relative calm.

My spring break will be the 14th-25th, so there's a good chance I can catch you in Santa Cruz early in my break and late in yours.

Hi Robynne, How are you? Congrats on the job by the way.
I just finished watching BBC Sherlock and I have to say -- It was brilliant!!!
I caught the theorizing bug though, cannot figure out how Sherlock lived...
I want to think he has a clone in Baskerville, one that was created using excellerated cellular growth and has no higher functions (brain dead).
Then there is the very popular Molly-switched-him-with a cadaver by using the truck as a sight shield.
I read in a Moffat interview that he planted some really obvious clues, but I only see the IOU graffiti everywhere and the Grimm's references.
Also, there is a Sherlock look-alike or face mask floating around; otherwise why would the kidnapped girl scream when she saw him...
And Mycroft has to know/conspired with his brother to orchestrate Sherlock's fall.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Nobody else seems to be curious at all. :(
