I have a new laptop. I'm really pissed off that I had to buy a new laptop. At least this time I had the money for it, but it's still upsetting.
It was the power jack, again. I break that part of computers consistently. I got the extended warranty on the new one, which means that I probably won't have any problems until just after the warranty expires. But if I do have problems, like the problems I've had with every computer I've ever owned, I'll be able to get it fixed, or, more likely, replaced.
That, and tons of other frustrating things, have made the past couple of weeks pretty terrible. But I'm dealing. Tomorow I'm going to get a new mirror for my car. (The one on the left side fell off. When I tell this to people, they ask if I still have it, and I tell them it shattered. I mean, it's not like it landed on a cushion. I wasn't driving my car on a sofa. It fell onto the pavement in the middle of the street, and it broke into a bunch of little pieces.)
A couple of weeks ago there was an attempt to get a Girl Genius book to Number One on Amazon, like what happened with Machine of Death. I've seen the Girl Genius booth at Comic-Con and thought it looked kind of interesting and fun, but never got around to actually reading it. I decided this was as good an opportunity to start as any, so I went ahead and bought the book. And I'm really enjoying it. Definitely glad I went ahead and did what people on the internet told me to do that day.
There's a new animated sitcom on Fox Sunday nights. I saw it after The Simpsons this week. It completely failed to impress me. I doubt it will last, and I'll be disappointed if it does. I actually forgot what it's called, and don't feel moved to look it up.
Oh, and Christopher Lloyd was on Fringe, which was pretty awesome. I like Fringe, and I'll be sad if it's cancelled. I hope it can survive the Friday Night Death Slot, and I wish all involved with it the best of luck.
And... now I think you're pretty much caught up with me.
