I can't really think of one. I've read a lot of books, and I can't think of one book that's caused any kind of a eureka moment for me.

For two reasons that I can see...
1) Her protagonist is a witch, and in the 70's in Oklahoma that was apparently not a Good Thing.
2) Several people decided that, due to similarities between the author and the character, that Mercedes Lackey was a Guardian (like her character) and she should use her magic powers to make their lives better.
She can tell her own story better than I can.
