ACTION/ NO ACTION
there used to be a vaguely stylistic placement of framed photos on my bathroom wall. five black and white 8x10s of old stars. until one day i had what at the time seemed like the longest shower anyone could reasonably have. (in fact, i don't know how reasonable it was. i sat on the bottom of the tub for most of it, doing nothing). tacs loosed and fell right out of the soggy, dripping wall and half of my composition hit the ground--or got caught by the towel bar--before i even got out. neither of them broke, and in my laziness i just through them onto the counter, one poised on either side of the sink. for now. but tonight i realized that i'd created a drama where elvis is pitted against marlon brando, with two elvis' staring confidently from one side of a noticeable gap over at a rebellious brando, and there's a romance on my countertop where james dean stares intently over the tap at a coy audrey hepburn.
