i had a couple of hours between shifts yesterday, so ryan and i ran to the carnival in cloverdale. it was small, sweet, cold and unpopulated. we bought enough tickets for three rides each, one of which was to be the ferris wheel of course, and left time for him to win me a giant stuffed creature. my ride of choice was the zipper, which, since we only had three rides, was the most thrilling and had to be done. now, none of the carnies are really doing anything but sitting around, cold and bored, smoking beneath their rides, waiting for two, maybe four people to hop on so they can press "start" or whatever they do. so we hop on. the only two on the ride at the time. and it's great!!! "holy crap!!!" "ahhhHHHHHHH" "this is INSANE!!" "oh my gosh..." "oh my gosh, okay that was insane" "oh...my.....gosh...."... and what seems like five minutes later, we think we're stopping, but we're not, we're reversing again at full speed. i swear the carnie was having a laugh. either that or he just plain forgot we were on the ride. there's no way a ride like that is supposed to last that long... we had to lie down. there weren't enough people for them to let us on ythe ferris wheel later, but that might have been a good thing.
