getting more and more disappointed that we missed the new years party. what's turning out to look like THE new years party. our car got pulled off the road half way out of surrey for having broken tail lights. we saw it coming. caught the first cab back to langley. got there at 30 minutes to midnight. still had a bottle of wine. still had my man. had an empty living room. wasn't upset at all, to be honest. in the doorway, about to say how okay it all was--and roommates. roommates watching a movie and cuddling. us, invading. them, in our way. but not really. we were happy enough to see each other. watched the end of ocean's twelve with them, forgot about the countdown, kissed ourselves to sleep.
before any of this we were at a very decent party where i got more and more comfortable with his friends. before any of this i didn't expect much of new years anyhow. before any of this i still missed holly. and in the end, new years day was beautiful.
