Asshole movie Moguls

Well, gang, it looks like the WGA strike isn't going to be settled anytime soon. It would appear that these multi-millionaire, spoiled-brat moguls want to keep things shut down to assuage their paper-thin egos. Apparently, these assholes are willing to write-off the 2008-09 TV season as well and this would also mean that there may not be any slate of movies ready to be released in 2009 and 2010.

They seem to be operating under the delusion that they are indespinsible to the Hollywood machine, and that the creative talent who provide them with a product to market and get rich off of are totally unnecessary. I wonder how the moguls will be able to justify their overinflated salaries without shipping any product to any market. I predict that this strike will ultimately be settled by the parent companies of schmucks. Wall Street is obsessed with profits these days and I don't see how a long-term strike is going to be good for the bottom lines of these companies--their only "profits" would be from reduced overhead, and revenue growth would be a pipe-dream with nothing in production.

These nitwit executives do not realize how easily they can be replaced--how many have come before them? How many will come after them? It isn't like any of them founded the company they are CEO of--there aren't any Bill Gates' or Steve Jobs' out in Hollywood who built their companies from the ground up.

I feel that the only way this is going to be resolved in the short term will be via pressure from Wall Street. Profits will be down, investors will be screaming--eventually investors may be screamings for the heads of Moonves, Reilly, Meyer, etc on pikes. These investors may sue, may hold emergency meetings to remove a Board of Directors that may very well be out-to-lunch and just serving as a rubber-stamp and maybe put in a Board with razor-sharp teeth. In order for their to be a rapid resolution to this, these moguls have to be pink-slipped.
