The Start of a Bad Trend?

I recently bought the Velvet Revolver cd and it's a pretty good cd. However, they are the first band to put some type of anti copying software on there, which doesn't allow people to copy it or burn on a cd. I saw a tip where if you hold the shift key while the cd is installing, it deactivates the program, but even if you still try to copy it, the songs are distorted and I know it's not my cd cause it's brand new and it plays fine on my discman. I can understand the logic behind this since Velvet Revolver doesn't want people burning their music and giving it to their friends for free or they don't want it to be distributed on the internet. But what about the people that want to burn one or two songs and put it on a blank cd as part of a favorite song cd, such as myself. GRRR. I have a feeling this will be a start of a new trend within the music industry which would totally suck cause I just started burning cds since I finally have a cd burner on my new computer and I won't be able to use it if bands start to put this anti-copying software on their cds. Granted, I have almost 200 songs that I consider favorites and I'm burning them all on cds, but it would stop there if any bands in the future put this anti-copying software on their cds. Hopefully, this isn't a start of a really bad trend.
