great coloring making the icons come alive

Lesser icon set:
number 01 - reason: the first icon could do with a bit of brightening up and the second is a little plain, some text may have been good with Art's expression here...
3 - The coloring does not match the textures, icons looks a bit washed out. Even though text placement in the 1st icon is interesting, the text itself does not make sense and it's not clear what it's purpose is.
04 - the texture in the first icon is distracting, and the second icon lacks of contrast
number 4 - reason: the first icon doesn't seem to be fitting the theme. Sure there is a picture of Art/Rob but the fire stock is confusing . As for the second icon, it seems not sharpened enough.
4 - in the first icon, the fire is way more prominent than the actual photo, making art barely recognizable and the texture in the 2nd icon darkens the photo too much
Set 4 - Crop in the first icon isn't ideal and the second icon looks quite pixelly and the colouring makes it harder to focus on Rob
04 - texture usage is way off, it takes up alot of the icon.
04 - It's good idea behind these icons, but the gradient/layering hides the focus of the subject in 2nd icon, as well as in the first.
Favorite icon set:
1 - Both icons have a grunge look to them and fit well together as a set. The light effect on top in the 1st icon makes it more interesting, while the black and white of the 2nd adds emotion to it.
05 - beautiful colouring and cropping
number 05 - reason: think the first one is really great, the text sends a subtle message about Art and his character and the colouring and crop of the second is to die for! ♥
number 5 - reason: lovely colors and complementary set. The crop of the second icon is great!
5- great coloring, composition and crop
Set 5 - Great colouring in both icons and nice use of text in the first icon
05- crop in second icon is really good. And the text in the first one is beautifully done.
05 - I think the lighting and crop work excellent together. It's simple and elegant and really focuses on the subject rather than the technique.
