I got my loan money in, so now i have to take the excess money and stow it away so that i have it for summer and fall. Considering that i'm only taking 3 credit hours this spring, i'm goign to try to take 3 over summer and that will leave me 3 in Fall 05, then I graduate.
I have just about enough to cover the tuition for my remaining hours that i have to take. It just sucks right now cause with Fiji, car insurance, tuition, books, rent, utilities, credit card... it's just fun to watch all the money I make go to bills. It's life, everyone has to do it, some get it a lil easier by having more support from their parents... but i wouldn't have it any other way. I'm almost completely financially independent from my parents, and honestly being poor never felt so good. It gives you some pride in what you "own". I guess i put so much pressure on myself to pay my own bills because the sooner i get used to paying for everything, the better... at least that's what I keep telling myself.
My spending habits are not the greatest. Put I am doing alot better then the last few years. The main reason why my money is so stretched is cause I'm doing all these things with an income of $1200 a month. 10% of my check goes to my 401k, so that's kinda acting as my extra savings account. I have just under $900 in my 401k and I've only been making contributions since mid-July. I've only put in about $800 of my money and it's gone up the other $100, so i'm happy with that.
Credit cards are the devil. Unless you have a tremendous amount of will power I would say that credit cards are more trouble then they're worth. Or, get one that only has like $500 - $1000 limit. My credit card has $6000 and it's gotten me in trouble a couple of times, I eventually got out, but still... extra stress that's not needed.
I'm just waiting till i graduate. I'm soo ready to get my degree and go out into the world. I already work full time with a company that builds/programs/supports/repairs/etc firewalls for small and med size companies/schools/etc. They have a pretty big clientele considering that it's just myself and one more that builds all the firewalls they sell. I'm hopeing they will want to keep me around after i graduate, offer me a position at least around $35k to low 40s. Regardless, I love where i work and i'll at least have my full time position hourly when i graduate. So i'll have time to find a job that pays more in the event that GTA can't give me a better position/raise.
Ok well i have to sleep if i'm going to wake up around 7 and workout before work at 830.
