fucking awesome christmas

This christmas was great, I had a blast.

Not just cause i received some amazing gifts from everyone, but because it's the most fun i've had this season in about the last 10 years.  I got to see my family at my sister's, have a private christmas with Laura and go spend some time with Laura's brother and rents in Ocala.  It was hectic driving that much in 2 days, but well worth it.

If anyone of you guys reads this post, Thank you so very much for all the gifts and i'm so very thankful that I got to spend time with all of you this year.

Now for some future goals and thoughts that might be entertaining to just myself or the few who enjoy talking about investing in property and housing:

So now i'm talking with my dad and laura about some future investments.  The rough story is that I want to find and buy a condo within the next 6 months.  Something that is about 2 bedrooms for around $100,000 and pay only interest on it so that it is close to the same rent amount i'm paying now (maybe about $100 more).  This way laura and I have a place to stay for the next 2-5 years while I search for my dream job (if i don't find it right after i graduate) and she has time to go back to school and get whatever degree/certifications she wants to.  I wouldn't mind finding a place that needs a lil work... nothing big, but something that needs new carpet/flooring and some repainting and maybe some refinishing in the kitchen, new cabinets.  Something I can do to help make the place more our own and at the same time increase the valuefor when we sell it.  And by the time we are ready to move into our "dream house", we can sell the condo and have at least some gain in our investment, some extra cash as opposed to not renewing a lease and leaving an apartment with no extra money.

Hopefully, if we find/buy and move into a condo/house that fits this description, I will graduate in Dec 05 and either get a job at with my current employeer starting around $40k or find another for a similar amount.  If this is the case, I would also be looking at buying some property (around 1/2 acre lot) to sit and wait those next 2-5 years.  This way we have a second investment to either sell and make some money, or we can keep the lot and build a house. I like creating and having options for myself.  I want to start looking at property within the next 6 months and have ideas of where i'd like to buy in about a year (the time i graduate).

Some areas in more developed places have 1/2 lots going for about $40k right now and others (like Clermont and i'm sure others) have the same size lots for $7k-$10k.  With the market increasing as it is, getting a lot within the next yr at $7-10k would be a good investment over 5 yrs.

I'm also contributing to a 401k, and have been for bout 6months now, so there is that I have going already.  My account is goign up about %18 so I'm happy if it keeps it up.

Anywho, lots of stuff that i'm looking into and want to learn more about.  But the main focus is school, without that i won't be getting any of those goals done.  I've typed enough for now, even i'm starting to get tired.
