Virginia. :) www.varf.org -- still a small faire, but they're really getting the mojo. And my group is singing there that weekend only; hence, my selfish attempt to grab Mr. Rob and Fambly.
I have heard that it is better now. We might have to check it out. I just have to remember to not compare it to MD's, as we have the bestest Faire ever! What is your group?
VA is indeed nothing like MD. Just keep in mind "small young faire" and you'll have fun. Plus, only $5 a head.
The sweet thing to me about VA is that everyone there really *wants* to make it work because they love it -- it's not a "business" thing yet. That's not dissing MD at all -- I love MD and salute the Smiths and their decades of work, and totally think they should reap the rewards.
Memorial Day Weekend, 2007 will be the first my family will be spending without our late Grandma Millie Torre (the subject of a long overdue blog post, yes) and tis only fitting that we deliver her 19th great grandchild to New Jersey to Meet the Family that weekend.
VARF is tempting, especially since The Traveller gave me a bunch of great costume pieces before he left for London! I have doublets now!
(don't you think that A Baby should be introduced to her Very First Ren Faire? Like, Memorial Day weekend?)
