On Liberalism

Just a quick note that I find very humerous.

I label myself as left wing. I support Kerry (although, he was not my Dem of choice) because I feel that Bush is not a capable leader. I oppose the war, but that does not mean that I oppose our troops.

Anyways, my grandparents are very conservative Republicans, which is fine. I am really the only liberal in my family. My family ranges from fairly liberal Republicans (my parents), to more strict conservatives (my uncles and grandparents). The problem is that my family knows my "extremist" political views, and does not stop hassling me about it. I just read an e-mail that my grandmother sent me that was very Kerry-bashing. This is not the first e-mail that she has sent me, and it probably won't be the last. Lord, you should have heard the commotion when I told them that I bought _Farenheit 9/11_ (which I strongly suggest to liberals and conservatives the like).

I want to send some anti-Bush propaganda back at her, but I feel it's a little petty. Perhaps I'll draft a nice long e-mail concerning Bush's connections with the Saudi's, or maybe the fact that Bush had a number of drilling operations that he ran into the ground. I would send the recent bill regarding the military draft to her, but unfortunatley it was a bill that was drafted by some of the more conservative Dems in congress.

Oh well. Annan, I understand what you are going through with your coworkers. Thank God my uncle didn't push his Bush/Cheney stickers on me at the tailgate.
