Fringe benefits always made him mad. Cassandra was late again, he knew what she was doing, behind his back.
Nigel looked at the clock, 11:26 p.m.
The Front door opened and he saw her shadowy outline in the doorway.
"Cassy."
"Oh, hey Nigel. I didn't think you'd still be up."
"Yeah, well i couldn't sleep. Where were you?"
As the fire died down. She was still in tears. She had seen the whole thing from the bushes. The Fire, her mother screaming as the troops held her down, her father desperately trying to save his wife from the abomination being done unto her.
As the boy asked the young girl to the dance, he fell, and the gunfight began.
I watched your son die. He was in bed, I saw through the window.
The ship jarred as it took its final hit. Smoke filled the corridors as the wailing siren warned all to abandon. But he just sat there, staring at her picture, wondering where he went wrong.
And the Whole thing was like a movie.
