Pick one. Pirates are seafaring criminals that hijacked boats and stole either the entire boat or just the valuables contained on the boat. They were lawless, dirty, smelly, cruel, unattractive, disgusting individuals that were hated and feared by a society that hunted them down and killed them. Notice the word hated.
Whores, on the other hand, (just in case this needs explanation) are women who, because of lack of any other marketable skill, perform sexual acts for money.
Now, if you don't see the problem, let me elaborate. These two careers cannot exist simultaneously. The "job descriptions" for each do not have any point of coincidence other than the occasional pirate who was serviced by a whore.
I understand the concept everyone is going for. Really, I do. But stop calling it something it's not. Sexy, scantily clad pirate is one thing, "Pirate Whore" is quite another. (Although the only 2 known female pirates had to dress as men because pirates hated women and did not think them worthy of their company let alone as shipmates. Sexy...huh?)
I'm really not trying to piss anyone off, really, I'm not. But I have seen at least 3 girls lately call their costumes "pirate whore". It's just frustrating, because I like things to make sense. I am sorry if I offended you, but hell, you read the damn thing.
