Im pretty sure I have not "engaged in hostilities" against my nation, nor do I keep company with those who do, so I feel pretty safe and mock this false-paranoia.

I don't think people are living their lives as if nothing happened but at this point people either feel too disenfranchised and scared to do anything - because of bills like this - or they are convincing themselves it's really not that bad. I think folks will have to be hauled out of their hourses for saying something "anti-American" before it really sets in.
